You see it? Down there in front on the two big block Fords. That is the 2 litre V6 that should find its way into the Crapri.
Remember this thing? Yeah. It’s been a long time. The SHO swap is obviously off the table for the time being.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Anyways. I found a few parts I needed while I was rooting around the garage a while back and stumbled upon a nearly complete engine and transmission! So as long as the heads are OK, the Crapri may have power by end of summer.

Nice :) I can’t wait til I have a garage that I can ‘stumble’ onto things into.
I did work out that I have most of the major things I'd need to make an AWD MGB GT V8 lying around though...

Actually, what engine is that? I'm assuming Cologne V6, but I didn't think the 2.0l made it stateside...

It didn’t. This one came out of a MK III Capri that was brought here to Canada by a guy in the Army who was stationed in Germany back in the nineties. Just likeu father and his John Player Special. (At the house in Germany no less).
So between this 2 litre of mine there is one other I know of. A German dude moved to Ohio a few years back and brought an ‘81 2.0S. Same engine. Looks like the car from the Professionals.

This is a great story, but isn’t the 2.0 a bit anemic for something lice the Capri? It’s decidedly snail-like in a Granada.....

Must be the Cologne one because they didn’t make the Essex one as a 2.0.
Ford Germany really liked their V engines.

Ford in general really liked their V engines.
All produced within years, some all at the same time: Essex V4, Taunus V4, Essex V6, Cologne V6, Windsor V8, Cleveland V8, FE V8, MEL V8, 385 V8.
That doesn't even take into account the variations of which, locally or between continents...

Yeah. Not even 100 hp. But. It was free. And the JPS in the garage means leftover speed parts. Long tube headers, a stroker crank( stroker 2 litre, HA), even, if I dare, a brace of solex two barrels. And more besides.

Off-topic - your last post. WHat did you drive? If it’s a prevost bus or a PAZ midibus then I win.

There’s a MK III in the barn with a fuel injected 5 litre huffing nitrous. It just needs to be finished. Thats the car this engine came from in fact.

The 428 does fiT. Those two 429s are already claimed. One is the Cobra jet for the rag top and the other is a seized up smogger.

Come on, you gotta be able to find something more fun than the microscopic v6!

Hey, I’m saving my money to fix the SHO. And this was free. And it came with a transmission. Besides, ever seen a 2 litre V6 with triple carbs?

Go-fast bits...? If it was a 2.3, I would understand. If it was a 2.8, it would even make sense :-) anyway, nice lego work getting all this together, and as someone who has had a jones for Cologne Granadas for the longest time, those bits you mentioned rustled me jimmies...

The two litre has the same stroke as the 2.3. I could put bigger pistol s in it later once I can afford some machine work.

I’m starting to love the insane quirkiness of this car.
Definitely MontegoMan Approved despite not using a bigger motor.
